I have a passion for music, simple as that. Whether it’s playing classical guitar quietly in the background to
enhance
a
special event or thrashing out rock on my drum kit at the Colston Hall in front of 1,000’s I get that feeling only a true
musician really knows.
When I started teaching music some 10 years ago I soon realised that my enthusiasm for music rubs off and my pupils not only learn but have great fun at the same time. They can see, feel and hear their progress and that, above all, gives me great pleasure.

Here’s how I started
Drums
I started learning drums at school under the tutelage of Bob Watkins, a very respected local drummer with lots of recording experience to his name. I then began playing in my first band in 1978 at school and over the years have played in dozens of bands, gigging all over the UK.
I have played the Glastonbury festival, the BBC's Late & Live show and have had my drumming used for the theme music to the Dave Barrett show on Radio Bristol.
Nowadays I can be seen regularly playing in Bristol, Somerset, Gloucestershire and even the beautiful Isles of Scilly with my bands Flash Harry and Lost 11.

Classical Guitar
I have been playing guitar since 1980 and studied formally at the Spanish Guitar Centre. I regularly perform at private functions either solo or as one of a Brazilian guitar duo and derive great pleasure from the emotions this amazing instrument evokes.
I have attained formal guitar certification through to grade 7. The teaching experience can be enhanced for children by bringing in a fun element, playing their favourite songs, nursery rhymes, comedy songs, but the emphasis is still on learning.
